Wayuu Bag, La Guajira

$105.00

Happy, colorful, and very practical! Wayuu bags have a unique charm, they easily add color and a fresh vibe to your casual look.

Our Wayuu bags are 100% handmade by the Venezuelan Wayuu people, an indigenous tribe living in a desert protected land along the Venezuelan-Colombian border. In the Wayuu community women dedicate most of their time to knit "chinchorros" -or hammocks-, throws, and bags like this one. This is their way of making a living and supporting their families.

Even though each bag is meticulously made following the same technique, each wayuu bag is unique. It takes about 18 days to weave one bag. Make sure to find the one that makes you happiest!
